Mapping and Color Manipulation

We started off the week by manipulating Rorschach images with gradient overlays to produce more calibrated 3D displacement maps and color manipulations.

To bring in more concrete layouts and meaning to the column and column field we started to work with organization models and plaza spaces.  By mapping the plaza spaces we were able to find the people tend to congregate around more formal or object centered geometries (fountains, column, activity, etc.) spaces which have a clear definition of use.

From there it was a mater of generating displacement maps and adding color as an experiment in representation.

From this point it will be about generating a more specific column/field condition, which should begin to inform the logic of coloration (sharp and hard to reinforce structure, or soft and diffuse to create a more inviting atmosphere).
